The Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) presents National Night Out on this coming Tuesday, August 4, 2026!

Shawn Davis is the PBPD’s chief of police. The Honorable Vivian Flowers is the mayor of Pine Bluff, AR.

This is your invitation to join the City of Pine Bluff for a fun and free police – community partnership event, scheduled from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The location is the Pine Bluff Convention Center (PBCC) at 1 Convention Center Drive in Pine Bluff.

Described as “America’s night out against crime,” this annual family friendly function will feature delicious food for everyone, games, activities and fun for all ages in a safe environment. In addition, there will be opportunities to meet and have conversations with officers as well as visit community awareness booths.

Please note that the PBCC will be enforcing its clear bag policy.

The Pine Bluff Black Firefighters Association presents Project Fresh Start on Saturday, August 8, 2026!

Better known as B.R.A.V.E. (Banishing Racial Animosity Vigorously Everywhere), this organization continues its tradition of helping to prepare students for the upcoming school year.

This back to school supplies giveaway will take place from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The location is Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at 1115 Commerce Road in Pine Bluff, AR (71601). Pastor Fred Batemon is the host pastor.

Join the Arkansas Chapter of the Trail of Tears Association (ARTOTA) for its annual public meeting on Saturday, August 15, 2026!

This event will begin at 1:00pm at the historic Cane Hill Museum, located at 14335 South Highway 45 in Cane Hill, AR. The meeting will be held in the College Building, according to Jason Irby, president of ARTOTA.

“Expect an informative presentation by Rachel Whitaker, an executive board member of ARTOTA,” Irby said.

He added that Whitaker is a doctoral candidate and a historian at Shiloh Museum of the Ozarks.  

Other program participants include Vanessa McKuin, executive director of Cane Hill Museum, who will give an introduction and welcome. Irby will provide opening remarks.

“We will also celebrate 30 years of service as a chapter,” Irby said.

ARTOTA invites the community to participate in the meeting and to learn more about the Trail of Tears through Arkansas. Refreshments will be served.
